UK’s first airside bedrooms launch at Heathrow Terminal 3

6th October 2011 | Press release

Transferring passengers with at least two hours to spare before a connecting flight can now take advantage of the UK’s first ever airside bedrooms operated by No.1 Traveller in Heathrow Terminal 3.

Building on the successful launch of No.1 Traveller’s flagship ‘super-lounge’ in Terminal 3, the airport hospitality specialist has now launched the UK’s first airside bedrooms – en-suite rooms offering peace and quiet to relax and recharge your batteries.

Accessible to all passengers departing from and transferring through Terminal 3, the 12 en-suite cabin-style rooms are offered for stays of two or more hours, with a mini-bar, complimentary internet access, an internet phone and room service, plus infant cots available on request.

The bedrooms are perfectly suited to transferring passengers with a long layover in the airport, giving travellers the opportunity to catch up on some sleep in soundproofed rooms and have a shower between flights.

Phil Cameron, founder and CEO of No.1 Traveller, said: “With the launch of the UK’s first airside bedrooms at Terminal 3, I am delighted that No.1 Traveller is again leading the way in passenger experience at UK airports.  This summer, we have launched our new super-lounges at Heathrow and Gatwick, our Travel Spas, and purchasable Fast Track security access at Stansted, improving journeys for hundreds of thousands of passengers. Our new bedrooms at Heathrow will be a significant enhancement to the very long journeys passengers make out of Terminal 3 and for the many millions of passengers transferring through the airport who have several hours’ wait between flights.”

John Holland-Kaye, Commercial Director of Heathrow Airport, said: “We’re delighted to be working with No.1 Traveller to provide our passengers with a new relaxing lounge experience. At Heathrow we’re committed to providing the very best travelling experience and No.1 Traveller, with the launch of its ‘super-lounge’ in August and now the bedrooms, is helping us provide this.”

Passengers wishing to make calls can do so using internet phones, which offer free international calls to any phone, complimentary internet access and desk space is available for those that need to catch up on some work, and for travellers wanting to kick-back and relax, there are more than 25 TV channels to choose from, including satellite channels E4, ITV2, Sky News and Aljazeera.

The bedrooms are situated next to No.1 Traveller’s flagship lounge at Terminal 3. The lounge boasts a broad and innovative range of facilities, many of which have never before been available to all passengers departing from or transferring through Heathrow Terminal 3. These include the Snug (quiet room), two Games Rooms, Showers, Cinema, Family Room and a Travel Spa.

Each bedroom costs £20 for a single or £30 for a twin room per hour, and can be accessed by any passenger departing from or transferring through Terminal 3. All the No.1 Traveller services in Heathrow Terminal 3 can be used independently, offering the greatest choice for leisure and business travellers alike, who are looking for a quiet place to recharge before a journey.
