5th December 2011 | News

Company profile

We're a fast-paced, entrepreneurial travel company looking for the right person to help us manage the changing face of our IT infrastructure.  Travel and customer service might be the core parts of our business, but we can't succeed without the right IT and systems in place.

Who we’re looking for

You might be a graduate fresh out of uni with bags of enthusiasm, or you may have clocked up a couple of years' experience in an IT or administrative environment.

You will need to have an interest in technology, the operation of software-based systems/web and possess organisational skills that allow you to multi-task and be an effective project manager.  You will also need to have a great set of communication skills that means you can confidently get on the phone with suppliers, write system specifications and train colleagues on how to use our bespoke systems.  As we are a business that is growing fast, you will also be comfortable with changing priorities and short deadlines.

The role is at the same level as a number of other assistant/administrative roles within the company who have a shared responsibility for customer service calls.  As such, you will need to be customer-focused and prepared to deal with any such enquiries you receive over the phone.

Role responsibilities

  • Management of the company’s IT assets and IT requests
Maintaining an inventory of the hardware and software that the company currently uses/licenses.  Responding to requests from the business for additional IT equipment and functionality.
  • Troubleshooting technological related problems
In conjunction with our dedicated IT support helpdesk you will be required to keep track of and ensure that any technological problems are resolved.
  • Management and development of the company’s:
    • Reservations and point-of-sale system
    • Intranet
    • Email marketing campaigns
Scoping enhancements with various 3rd party developers to improve our internal systems and oversee the creation and launch of our email marketing campaigns.  An understanding of HTML/CSS programming would be beneficial (but not essential).

In addition to the job specifics listed above, you will be required to assist the Information Communications Manager across a variety of initiatives.

Please note some travel to Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted will be required, and background security checks and references covering five years are necessary to obtain airport security clearance.

Salary
